Jane CoCo Cowles was born in Nyack, New York and grew up spending summers in Northfield, Massachusetts. These summers she spent with her grandparents in a cottage in the woods highly influenced her art work. It was during this time that she began recreating the wild flowers, leaves, berries, and other botanicals that she collected using a variety of medium but mainly by cutting them out of paper.
These early works were the foundation for the sculptures she created while studying Fine Art and English at Drew University where she received the Dean’s Prize for her designs.
She began her editorial work as an intern at Art & Antiques Magazine. Her keen eye for detail and love of writing led her to pursue legal studies at Pace University where she recieved a Juris Doctorate and then she completed a Masters in Taxation at New York Law.
Jane’s legal and business training futher added to her already organized and methodical artistic style. Jane’s art and jewelry designs have been exhibited in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Italy.
