Jane Cowles

What inspires me to create? An object catches my eye, a word or concept makes me think, or a memory. That snippet of information is the catalyst that sets off a process. It’s the process that lures me in. I like the methodical nature of creating. Repetition slows my mind. It’s in this state of being I find a zone that makes me see things differently.  I organize, I order, I sort ideas like the pieces of a puzzle. I put together little bits of things I saw, read and heard into my own picture. And this process is a meditation, a moment to pause from busy nature of life and collecting endless pieces of information.
